Stop handing your gift to someone else's voice. Yours might be the one the dream was waiting for.

One thing people don't realise: I started singing at the studio when I was almost 12. I was confident at first, but I eventually got to a point where I hated my singing voice. I was good at writing melodies, but I'd always give them away to someone whose voice I thought was better.
This is a song about embracing your voice, and becoming the version of you that lets the authority of your voice speak for you. For me, the dream was always to do what I love. Now that dream finally has a voice. I just didn't know it would be mine. “Kila ndoto ina sauti, ona sauti yangu ndio hiyo.” Every dream has a voice. Look, mine is this one.
My favourite line is “I said later I won't come back to the studio, already later and I'm still here in the studio.” I've had days and nights when I promised myself I wouldn't record, out of logic or “frustration”, and those are exactly the days I find myself still in the studio.
The dream always had a voice. It just took me years to hear that it was mine.
