Don't waste the wait. Make something while you're there.

I recorded this after I'd shown up to an event for someone I cared about. I was wearing white, and I ended up waiting much longer than I thought. While I waited, I wrote the lyrics as an exercise to stay productive.
When I recorded it, I imagined a bride in white, held up waiting at the aisle. I wanted the sound to feel ready for marriage, ready for the ceremony. She has cleared every other option on her path, and she still doesn't see the love of her life.
I reply as the lover, admitting my flaws and how scary marriage seems to my generation. I still promise I'm on my way, and she gives me the chance, telling herself this is just another one of those tests, so she'll wait for me anyway: “unanipima perhaps… so nasubiri.”
Some songs are born while you're waiting for something else.
